Before you email about a missing estimate
If the tool returned an estimate that seemed wrong or didn't find matches, here's the most common cause and quick fix:
- Photo too dark, blurry, or cluttered — try a clearer photo on a plain background. Good lighting matters more than camera quality.
- Generic item with too many lookalikes — “blue mug” matches everything; “Yeti Rambler 14oz” matches the right thing. Show brand markings if visible.
- Niche or obscure item — if eBay has fewer than 5 sold listings for it, our estimate gets very rough. Read how it works for the limits section.
- Condition we can't see — same model, different conditions sell for very different prices. The estimate assumes “average used”; adjust for what you actually have.
