What's different about each marketplace

eBay

80 chars, keyword-dense

Front-loaded brand + model + key spec + condition. eBay's search ranks on title relevance, so every word is real estate. Avoids "L@@K" and similar โ€” eBay penalizes promotional language.

Mercari

Mobile-first, conversational

Shorter title, brand-led. Description is friendlier and skimmable for thumb-scrollers. Hashtags at the end help with the discovery feed.

Poshmark

Brand-driven, size upfront

Poshmark search heavily indexes brand. Size info in the title for clothing/shoes. Description is conversational, mentions original retail, ends with category hashtags.

When to edit the output

The AI sees the photo but doesn't see the item in your hands. You'll often want to edit before posting:

AI listing generator FAQs

You upload a product photo and pick a target marketplace (eBay, Mercari, or Poshmark). The image is sent to Anthropic's Claude vision model, which generates a title (optimized for that marketplace's search behavior and character limits) and a description (matched to the platform's tone and best practices). Copy-paste into your listing.
eBay rewards keyword density and front-loaded model numbers. Mercari is mobile-first with shorter, conversational descriptions plus hashtags. Poshmark is heavily brand-search-driven and expects size info upfront. The same product needs different copy on each platform.
For common items with clear photos, yes โ€” usually better than what an unpracticed seller writes from scratch. For obscure or vintage items where you have specific knowledge the AI can't see, edit the output before listing. Treat it as a strong first draft, not a finished listing.
The AI describes what it sees. Blurry photos produce vague titles. Multiple-item photos produce mixed descriptions. Best results: one item, plain background, good lighting, brand markings visible.
AI inference has real per-call costs, so the website preview is rate-limited. Pro tier (coming Q3 2026, $7/mo for first 500 signups) lifts the limit and adds bulk-mode integration so you can generate listings from your bulk uploads in one shot.
